Redecorating With Lady at the Well: A Vintage Subscription Box

When I discovered Frankie & Albert, an online subscription box service delivering vintage home décor, I couldn't wait to receive one of their boxes!  Their studio is filled with thousands of carefully curated objects they have collected from flea markets and antique shops all across the United States.  We recently moved into our dream home where I now have an actual homeschool classroom.  I decided to decorate with a vintage look--complete with hundred year old Chippendale teacher desk and dresser for school supplies and old bookshelves stacked with Victorian suitcases for each child's textbooks and classics.

My Frankie & Albert box came filled with vintage-wrapped, brown paper packages tied up with strings.

The alcove over the fireplace seemed the perfect spot for my Frankie & Albert finds, themed "Lady at the Well".  My subscription box came with every item you see here with the exception of the flowers plus a glass dish and candle holder I didn't use in the display.  I was impressed!

Frankie & Albert say they choose the best of the best to fill your home with delightful story-filled goods that you will love and I concur!  I am so in love with the items they found for me--they give our vintage classroom the perfect touch and I didn't have to spend hours looking through antique stores to find them.

Ordering a box is easy--You choose the room you want to decorate, include your Pinterest so they can see your tastes, check off the materials you like (wood, ceramic, plastic, etc.) along with your favorite colors and themes, of which they have a wide variety:
  •  Rustic
  • Traditional
  • Southwest
  • Art Deco
  • Eclectic
  • Mid-Century
  • Glam
  • Industrial

The cost is only $49.99 a month which is really a great price for hand-picked, quality vintage items!

Make a Pet, Make a Dino, or Make a Mood! It's Your Choice with this New Magnetic Activity Set #Giveaway!

Remember when sticking out a tongue or crossing your eyes would have your mom warn, "Don’t make silly faces, or your face will get stuck like that." Actually, making faces and being able to read them on others is a significant milestone for all children. Well, my kiddos have been having a spectacular time "making a mood" with their new Make A Pet playset. In the photo above, or so my son tells me, the dog is confused because he has a ball of yarn, while the cat is upset because she's stuck with the bone.

Neat-Oh! International actually has three different new magnetic activity sets for tots as young as three years old. I have to admit, my older kids thoroughly enjoy them, too! As you can see, with Make a Pet, you can easily change around the animals expressions.

My kids tell stories with them, and explain why the animals are happy, excited, nervous, angry, even jealous.  They also play games in which one has to guess what expression the other has chosen for their pets.
Besides Make A Pet, there's also Make A Dino and Make A Mood.  I can really see these as being useful for preschool aged children who are just learning to express themselves, or for autistic children who may have a hard time expressing their feelings.   The owner actually has two children with autism and he developed Magnutto with them in mind.
One of you will win your choice of one of the three kits--Make A Pet, Make A Dino, or Make A Mood. Enter  below by 5/9.
Special thanks to the wonderful people at KidStuff PR and Magnutto for providing us with this product to review!  All opinions are honest and our own.

Merrick Classic Dog Food Review with Guest Blogger Lucy #BestDogEver

This post is sponsored by Merrick Pet Care and the BlogPaws® Pet Influencer Network™. I am being compensated for helping create awareness around the Merrick Classic Refresh, we only share information we feel is relevant to our readers. Merrick Pet Care is not responsible for the content of this article.

Lucy loves when I allow her to be a guest blogger at The Traveling Sisterhood.  She wagged her tail quite excitedly when I asked her if she'd like to share her favorite new dog food with our readers.  Or maybe she was just excited because Mom was letting her drive to store... ;)
Update: Lucy and I won all-expensive paid trip to BlogPaws 2016 thanks to this photo--this will be our first blogger conference. Woohoo!

It passed the taste test!  Lucy only eats natural food and she loves this one right away.  I really like that the "Small Breed Recipe" really does come in small, tiny, little kibbles.  Unfortunately, I have tried "small breed" food in the past that was too big for my pooch to eat comfortably.  As you may see in the pic, I included a bit of her old dog food to make sure she didn't get a tummy ache as I weaned her off of it.

As soon as the doorbell rang, Lucy just knew the mailman had a delivery for her.  She couldn't wait to dig in!  She was so excited to try her new Merrick Dog Food that she leapt into the box!  As you can see, she was a cute little blur of fur!
Merrick's Classic Small Breed Recipe--perfect for little dogs is made in the USA with deboned chicken and wholesome ancient grains, and she loves the taste. The best food for the best dog ever!

As a fairly new dog owner, I had never heard of Merrick Classic, but it turns out they've long provided dogs natural nutrition from a wholesome  balance of protein, whole grains and fruits and vegetables. It's cooked in the USA (something that's harder to find than I would have imagined!) in Merrick’s own kitchens, with no ingredients  from China and  contain no potatoes, corn, wheat or soy so it's very easy on our pooches' tummies, and it comes in the 5 recipes above.

Love With Food April Unboxing! Impressive... with a 50% discount!

Special thanks to Love With Food for providing us with a trial month to review! All opinions are honest and our own.
My absolutely-stuffed-full April Love With Food box! This is their Deluxe Box which comes with 16-20 snacks. My box here included 16 snacks, so this is the bare minimum.  Even at that, I was impressed!  A very full box!  They also offer a similar Gluten Free Box with 10-12 snacks.

My favorite things in the box!  These are so good, I need to find them in the store. Thankfully, my kiddos don't like lemon flavored things so these were all mine. ;)

Not my favorite, but kind of cool to have some salty along with the sweet.
These are also incredibly delicious!
A drink that's also a protein pack!
Another favorite. These are so delicious!
Sometimes, gluten free options also come in the Deluxe Box. Our March box even had a box of Annie's Mac 'n Cheese which was really cool!

My mom loves this stuff so I gave this one to her!

These are so good! I love trying all the new, authentic foods!
The apples are our favorites!

Not our favorite, but I'm sure others would like them.

My mom also loved these!

Do you know how delicious these are?!  I gave this one, solitary Almond Roca to my hubby! I must love him. ;)

What is especially awesome about Love With Food's first month trials is that you can try both their Deluxe and Gluten free boxes at 40-50% off!  Their Deluxe Box from my review has 16-20 snacks, and their Gluten Free Box has 10-12 snacks. The first month of each costs 9.99, 11.95, and 12.49 shipped. Definitely worth those prices! Try them both and decide what you like better. And if you decide not to keep them, they are super easy to cancel, no questions asked, just a simple click of the mouse.

Let me know if you decide to try them!

Orkin Mosquito Summer Scientist Toys Giveaway!

Special thanks to Orkin and Tether group! All opinions are honest and our own.
My little guy loves loves loves collecting bugs!  Most especially beetles.  The bug jar pictured above has long since become very dirty and fallen apart so he'll be ecstatic to receive a new one along with other great bug doodads from Orkin... along with one of our readers!

Summer is almost here! That means picnics, baseball games, barbecues and all the fun of enjoying the great outdoors with your family. There’s one thing no one likes about being outdoors, though: mosquitoes! They not only are a nuisance, but they also pose potentially serious health risks. Fortunately, the experts at Orkin study the science of mosquitoes and other pests closely in order to better tailor plans that help keep them out of your home this summer.
Last year, we had so many mosquitoes! It was horrible.  During the beginning of the summer, I went to a DIY oils party.  We made candles with Citronella oil.  It turns out, that stuff really works! Whichever room  I had the candle in, the people there would be the only ones to wake up without mosquito bites.  Needless to say, I invested in some more candles! This year, I have a couple of oil diffusers I'll use with citronella instead--much cheaper than candles!  Do you have any mosquito stories or tips to share?

To help you better prepare yourself and your family to fight the bite, Orkin presents the “Buzzer Beater” app, which features its deep scientific knowledge of mosquitoes.
Take the Buzzer Beater quiz and comment with the most helpful or surprising fact you learned!
