Glimmer Girls, A New Faithgirlz Series Giveaway! #PreteenFiction

When they saw the cover, they thought the girls looked like them.  One of my twin daughters wears a ponytail every.single.day.  Her twin sister always wears her hair down.  Both of them have glasses.  Their little sister, Lulu, wears skirts and 2 ponytails all of the time.  And then when they read the back of the book, they started giggling uncontrollably!  I said, "What's all the commotion?"  Well, it turns out the oldest girls in the books are twins!  And their younger sisters name is Lulu, just like my youngest daughter!  How crazy and perfect is that?!

Since then, all of my daughters has finished at least one of these books. They love them and can't wait for more!  I'm really excited about a preteen girls series that has Christian characters who are really modern and fun!  Written by Natalie Grant, the characters seem to be based on life--she has 3 daughters who often go with her on tours.  I haven't read the books myself but my daughters are very good judges of good fiction and they all give them 2 thumbs up!  From everything I've heard them tell me, and excerpts they've read to me, someday soon I'll read them myself.  For now, though, they're being read by 3 very happy girls in my home!

Glimmer Girls is a fiction series that I have created with my daughters.  The storyline is about three girls who go on tour with their singing mom.  I have no idea where I came up with that plot!  It’s fun for my little girls to help with the content because they actually live that life.  Glimmer is the last name of the family, but it also has a special meaning.  It is a light that is never extinguished.  Sometimes it may glimmer a little bit brighter, sometimes it may glimmer a little bit dimmer, but it never goes out.  I felt like that was such a perfect description for all of us.  We all have a light on the inside and depending on the day, sometimes it’s bright and sometimes it’s dim.  That is the message I wanted girls to get from this book.  You don’t always have to be shining bright, some days are going to be more difficult than others, but Jesus has put a light in you that will never go out. -Natalie Grant, the author
