A Mineral Hygienics Review & How to Make Your Lovely Face More Lovely by Contouring Your Makeup

Mineral Hygienics blush.
About a month ago, I took my mom for a makeover as a birthday gift.  We had such a blast learning new makeup techniques!  I especially loved how the makeup artist contoured my makeup, changing the entire look of my face.  If you're like I was, I really had no idea what it meant to "contour".  But now I'm not so ignorant!

You see, in contouring, facial features are viewed as a combination of light and shadows. By applying a dark tone, you create a false shadow, making it appear as if there is depth. The opposite is true for lighter tones; they act as highlights and trick the eye into thinking they stand out.

A Quick How-to
I used Mineral Hygienics blush for a contoured look. I used their Angled Blush Brush to sweep the darkest color--the Cool Kiss Mineral Bronzer--in one stroke beginning at the natural hollow on my cheeks and swept it upwards and outwards toward my hairline.  I dusted the Sweet Pea blush on the apples of my cheeks, and put the Radiant Mineral Enhancer above that as a highlighter.  I use this makeup pretty much everyday and love the look it creates whether I'm going out for dinner or going for a walk with my family.  (For more on coutouring, simply Google "how to contour makeup".  There are tons of tutorials and Youtube videos to give you exactly the look you want!

My hubby caught me on camera unawares, but this is what my daily-wear Mineral Hygienics looks like.  I'd say it's pretty flawless for an everyday look. Isn't it great when you like the way you look in a photo you didn't even realize was being taken?!

  1. Mineral Hygienics seem like terrific make-up. I have not heard of that before this. Makeovers are really fun too, I do agree!
