The Traveling Sisterhood: 2015

Gorgeous Hair for the Holidays #Giveaway

Congrats to Jeanne C.,
the winner of this giveaway!

My everyday hair via Topganic Styling. I love their organic products because they're the first of their kind I've tried that give me exactly the look I want and still leave my hair feeling so soft!
I've had the opportunity of trying 3 different Topganic haircare products and love them both.  I began using their hair styling lotion back in December and was eager to try one of the new items from their Brazilian Nut Oil Line--the Style & Go Moisturizing Cream.  I have tried numerous natural hair products and these are the first ones that truly work!  Everytime I have the opportunity to review something new from them, I jump at the chance.  Another great thing about them is they come in huge containers!  Plus, a little goes a long way.

Be sure to follow Topganic on their Facebook page because they sometimes hold giveaways there--recently, they had a giveaway for a complete collection of the winner's choosing!

The products from Topganic's Brazilian Nut Oil Collection have an amazing, sweet and clean fragrance, leaving your hair feeling and smelling wonderfully.  They're also enriched with Keratin to provide intensive repair to damaged tresses.  Just an overall amazing product for any hair type!

 GIVEAWAY!

One winner will receive Topganic's Style & Go Moisturzing Cream.  Enter below by 11/28 at 11 pm anyone's time.

Check out our other giveaways, too--we have a lot of great stuff this week!

I really love wearing my hair long.
What's your favorite way to style your hair?

Special thanks to the wonderful people at The Woods and Co. for providing me with this product to review and giveaway. All opinions are honest and our own.

$125 Gift Credit for Kids Clothes from Sprouting Threads!!! No Catch!

This month's Sprouting Threads e-mail newsletter came with an amazing deal--add a sibling and get $100 of free clothes--no catch!  I signed up my little guy in a jiffy, as my daughter has been their fan for awhile. Scroll down for the links and promo code...

Sprouting Threads is a subscription based clothing service that gives the members options of frequency, quantity & assortment to meet their family’s needs. Members are also given the option to “rethread” (or send pieces back after their child outgrows them) for store credit. Keep what you like and return the rest. I sent in some items and got a great amount of credit for them!
Sprouting Thread's personalized touch is very nice.  Their prices vary depending on what you keep and there's always free shipping both ways.  There's a handy paper which lists each item along with the price.  Keep what you love and send the rest back. They credited my send-backs quickly and their customer service is so wonderful! Each time I had questions (and sometimes I have a lot of them!) they were so sweet and thoroughMy favorite thing about Sprouting Threads is that you set up your child's tastes so they get something you and they will love, but you also are surprised!  If you need to pause your subscription, you can also do that.  After Christmas and some unforeseen dental bills, we needed to cut down on our budget but now I can't wait for our next box!

Her favorite outfit from our last Sprouting Threads box was this one.  She wears this skirt and top whenever they are clean!  She absolutely loves them!  So adorable, and only the most well-made clothing lines are featured.  Once you receive your box, your child has 5 days to try on his or her clothes and decide what to keep.

How to get the discounts:
Sign up your first child using this link for the $25 credit.
In "My Account", click "Add a Sibling" and do the same for him/her, putting in the code SIBLING100 at checkout.  On your e-mail receipt, it will show your promo code.  Voila! It's as easy as that!

Let me know what cute stuff you get!

Our Festive Classroom: Getting Ready for Next Semester!

I just have to share my classroom with you all. For 5 years, I homeschooled 4 kiddos in a 3 bedroom, crowded house. This year, we were able to afford a new house with 3 living rooms, one which became my classroom. I am feeling so blessed!

Frog Life Cycle in the alcove!  And it actually looks classy, as you can see in the whole-room picture above.  I love that our Nancy Larson Science Curriculum came with everything... right down to the frogs!

In a couple of months, we'll be Geologists.  I've set up one of our classroom shelves with everything Nancy Larson Science came with plus my favorite amethyst and some geodes we'll be busting open once Geology days roll around.
Sitting at my 100 year old Chippendale antique writing desk, preparing for next semester to begin.  I'm so excited!  My kids are loving Science this year because the Nancy Larson home school program is amazing!  While we did have a bit of a break from traditional lessons as we moved and got settled into a new home in a new town, we're excited to get back into the groove!  It's really nice that these lesson plans essentially entail nothing more than skimming over them to make sure I've got everything I need handy, and then just getting excited about the material we're going to cover.  I learn along with my kids and it's awesome!

Special thanks to the wonderful people at Nancy Larson Science for providing us with their Science 3 curriculum to review!

Free $25 Cell Phone Credit: Switch to Ting for a $23 a Month Phone Bill!

https://znmqpt1e692.ting.com/
For us, it's actually a little less than $23 per phone!  My hubby, my mom, and I switched to Ting (a cell phone service which uses Sprint's network but is quite a lot cheaper) about 2 years ago.  Our phone bill for 1 smart phone and 2 flip phones comes to a grand total of $66 a month!

https://znmqpt1e692.ting.com/
Your bill is based on your useage--ours varies between $57-$74 for 3 phones with $66 being the average. Most phones will easily transfer over so you may not have to buy a new one, and when you sign up you get a free $25 toward either a statement credit or a new phone!  Plus, there's no contract which makes it especially awesome.  I will never, never go back to Verizon, that's for sure!

RoyalTea Candle and Jewelry #HolidayGiftGuide

Each Royal Tea Candle comes inside a reuseable teacup and has a surprise piece of jewelry inside!  You're able to choose whether you'd like a necklace or ring, along with your ring size, but what you'll get beyond that is a fun surprise.  The candles are 100% natural and come in a wide variety of wonderful scents.  I chose to review White Tea & Berries.  Doesn't it look lovely on my fireplace mantle?

There's also a custom option so that if you're going to be gift giving one, you can choose the piece of jewelry you'd like inside your candle!  This is the first jewelry candle company to do that and I think that makes for such an amazing gift!!

Embedded in each candle (safely wrapped in foil) is a hand selected piece of jewelry valued between $20-$3,000. I really like that the jewelry pouch is attached to a charm that hangs over the edge.  I've tried other jewelry candles that were a pain to get out because they didn't have this bit of added wisdom.

You simply tug the chain when you see the foil to reveal your crown jewel.  It's wrapped very safely and snuggly but is easy to open.  I was super happy to see that it was very near the top of the candle.  I didn't have to wait too long to find my surprise!

The piece of jewelry inside each candle is worth between $20 and $3000!  I love the necklace I received.  Though the tag it came with says it's only worth $20, I'm very happy with it and it's definitely my style!  It's a simple red gemstone on a copper chain with adjustable length.  It looks very well made, not at all like costume or cheap jewelry.  Can't wait to wear it to church with my favorite black dress on Sunday!
This is one of my very favorite gift guide items which I will be purchasing for numerous people!  I absolutely love these candles and they make such a unique, fun, and exciting gift!
DISCOUNT
Each of my blog readers who uses this link will receive 15% off any Royal Tea Candle purchase which will  bring the price of each Surprise Jewelry Candle to $21!  An easy price to spend on that last-minute mailable Christmas gift.

Wishlist Weekend: JecicaDress, the Most Gorgeous Evening Wear

I recently discovered JecicaDress and have fallen in love with some of their beautiful dresses!  I especially like that they have such a wide variety for so many tastes and styles.  They are an Irish dress store specializing in the design of evening wear, cocktail, prom, and bridesmaids dresses in hundreds of styles custom made for each order.  Here are my favorites:

Isn't this chiffon dress lovely?  So classy and I love the length.  I prefer my dresses to be knee length--neither too long nor too short.  This one comes in a variety of colors.  My favorite color to wear is burgundy so that is the color I would choose.

I really love the high low styles, and this one is such a classy dress.  I love it in royal blue, though it also comes in other colors.

This dress is called the Champagne Sweetheart Chiffon.  I absolutely love chiffon.  It flows so beautifully and flatters so well.  I really like everything about this dress!  Besides burgundy, I love to wear white--so innocent and feminine.  I'd choose this dress in ivory.
I just love the vintage feel of this dress!  The lace is beautiful and the color is perfect.  Every dress I've seen at JecicaDress has a wide variety of colors to choose from which is awesome!

First, I just have to say that this model is adorable! It's nice to see a model with a nice, real shape.  Perhaps this is a customer photo?  Whatever the case, she looks beautiful in this dress!  Knowing it looks nice on a person whose shape is similar to mine makes me want it even more!  So pretty!
I wish I could have everything on my JecicaDress wishlist, but I think I'll go with this bottom dress in burgundy!  Which of their dresses is your favorite?

The 12 Days of Romance, A Christmas DIY #HolidayGiftGuide

Disclosure: This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #KYTrySomethingNew #CollectiveBias

Every year, I make something thoughtful and creative for my hubby.  This year, I've created 12 Days of Romance, a fun way we can celebrate one another and keep the passion alive through the busy season. I've included printables for you and a list of everything you'll need along with easy instructions. Some of the gift items can easily be exchanged for others based on your own imagination and desires.  The most important thing to remember is that when it comes right down to it, you're giving him you for Christmas.  Even if your marriage is far from perfect or is going through a rocky time, I guarantee that just putting together this gift for him will make you love him more... and it will definitely make him love you more!
You'll find the printable tags at the bottom of this post.  To make each tag into a hanging ornament card, cut out and tie the 2 pieces together.  Punch a hole at the top and tie a ribbon or twine through.

Each tag says what he can expect that night (or during the day if that'll work!)--something to spice up our marriages, but tasteful enough to share on my family-friendly blog. You could do the gifts at night, but I've found husbands likes the anticipation that lasts through the entire day.
Hang the 12 Days of Christmas tags on a miniature tree or garland in a cozy place.  Each morning, place that day’s gift under the display for your hubby to discover.

You can find a printable list of each day's item or items at the bottom of this post.  You'll need a variety of gift boxes and/or bags for your gifts.  Don't worry!  The 12 Days of Christmas traditionally don't start until Christmas Day so you have plenty of time.

On the first day of Christmas
My true love gave to me
Something much more romantic
than a partridge in a pear tree!
This one is both for you and for me.
We'll need this every night, you see.
I found these at Wal-Mart last night. You can save by using this coupon for $2 off one K-Y® product!
Loofah and Bath Milk
On the 8th day of Christmas
My true love gave to me
A loofah, soapy cream, and all of me!
This milk maid is worth the day's wait—
Come to the shower tonight and see!

Golden Rings & Pretty Things
On the 5th day of Christmas
My true love gave to me
Golden rings attached to pretty things.
Pick the outfit that you like best
And I will go get dressed.
I made my golden rings with a roll of gold-colored wire
On the 6th day of Christmas
My true love gave to me
A bottle of magical cream
To fill us with passion and give us sweet dreams.
Remember, you can also use the $2 off coupon on this one!

What are you planning for your hubby this Holiday season?  Let me know if you decide to do the 12 Days of Romance!
